OurFamily Legacy
Meet the team.
Welcome to inspired Montessori Learning (iML), an online Montessori educational resource for early childhood educators, homeschoolers and parents. iML’s curriculum, based on the first plane of Montessori development, is designed for children from birth to six years of age.
Barbara, Rachel and Kayla Yentes are the women behind iML. Not only do they share a last name, but also a love of everything Montessori. Together they strive to create an online place of beauty and learning that inspires you to share materials, thoughts, ideas, and creations in your own homes and classrooms.
Barbara, after teaching public school for five years, and unable to find a preschool that embraced the Montessori ideals and philosophy of learning that she wanted for her young boys, decided to follow her dream to open her own Montessori School in the beautiful Great Central Valley of California. She studied under the direction of Margaret Homfray, earning her Montessori Teaching Certification from Montessori World Educational Institute in San Luis Obispo. Children’s House Montessori School, founded in 1996, has been a place of learning and growth for all who have come through the doors. All five of Barbara’s children (and now grandchildren) have attended this family school which has been a joy and a blessing! Barbara’s love for Montessori was passed down from her mother and grandmother who founded Montessori schools in El Paso Texas over 40 years ago. She now hopes to do the same with her beloved daughters-in-law.
While Rachel and Kayla earned degrees in business and health from Brigham Young University, they also became interested in the Montessori approach to learning after marrying into the family. Before long, their interest in everything Montessori, along with the births of their first children, started them along their own Montessori learning journey. Rachel completed her formal Montessori training in 2019 and Kayla began her Montessori training in 2020.
Embracing a dual role as both mothers and educators, Barbara, Rachel, and Kayla hope to help other parents and teachers guide and connect their early learners in a space where Montessori philosophies of independence, choice, discovery, hands on learning, love of the earth, peacefulness and cultural awareness take center stage through inspirational printables, sensorial learning kits, and homeschooling curriculum.

Kayla believes laughter is the key to happiness. With her background in comedy and her love of people, motherhood has been the best gig. One of the best parts of the gig has been becoming a Montessori mom to her baby boy. Kayla has enjoyed creating new ways to bring Montessori to life. She’s currently working on combining her passion for movement and exercise with a Montessori inspired foundation. Kayla loves to celebrate the little things in life and is always ready for a spontaneous dance party with her boys. You can catch her studying for her Montessori certification, instructing HIIT, or sneaking one of Rachel’s cookies on any given day of the week.
Barbara’s passion for people is what drives everything she does. She pours her life into serving others. Whether it’s dropping everything to help one of her 5 kids, serving a friend in need or volunteering in her community, Barbara loves to connect with people. Barbara puts her whole heart and soul into everything she does. This is true for the Montessori curriculum she develops, the shelves & work she creates, the Montessori school that she has owned and operated for the past 25 years and also the parties she is known for. Her eye for detail, bold energy, and infectious laugh are the winning trio for the perfect event. Come join the party!
Rachel is a woman who loves fiercely and gives generously. While she’s a strong business woman, family is everything to Rachel and has been her whole life and reason behind her Montessori journey. She’s a mother of two lionhearted girls, who take after their mother’s determined nature. Completing her Montessori education has helped her grow both individually and in her home as she teaches the Montessori lifestyle to her young girls. Rachel thrives off of trying new things and traveling the world with her husband and girls. She cares deeply for others and whether family by blood or bond, Rachel is there for those who need her. Especially if they need a cookie, there are few recipes that rival Rachel’s homemade cookies.
“The Most important period of life is not that of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six.”
